Special online price! Animals whose diets contain seaweed are often observed to be in particular good health.
Due to the limited species variation found in modern pastures, and the loss of vitamins and minerals through feed processing and storage, the modern horse will often benefit from an all round dietary supplement.
Seaweed provides a whole range of vitamins from A through to M (Folic acid), so essential for the efficient digestion and metabolism of the
diet. Seaweed also contains up to twenty minerals, including the electrolytes, sodium, chlorine, potassium and magnesium vital for water uptake. The calcium present will help to redress the calcium, phosphorous imbalance which is often seen in concentrate diets;
while the copper and iron present work together in red blood cell formation.
Horses require ten essential amino acids, that is, amino acids that the animal cannot synthesize itself. Seaweed contains all ten essential amino acids, necessary for forming protein. Lysine is particularly important as it is the first limiting amino acid in the grain fed horse,
that is, without the presence of lysine no other amino acid can be used.
N.A.F. Seaweed provides a broad based spectrum of vitamins, minerals and amino acids for health and vitality. However care should be taken and veterinary advice sought when feeding to mares in the last four months of gestation
