ABBEY Cheltenham Gag
When you use a conventional gag the rein that is attached to the roundings pulls the bit upwards in the mouth stretching the corner so the lips upwards gripping the horse's head between the lips and the poll and putting pressure on the corners, raising the head. The large rings are particularly used in Polo to give more leverage.
